Activities in downtown typically take place around Lytton Square where residents might enjoy a cup of artisanal coffee at the Book Depot Cafe or simply do some people-watching. There is something to enjoy for everyone with a plethora of boutiques and restaurants to choose from. For entertainment, head to Sweetwater Music Hall, known for its live performances and guest musicians who will casually drop in for an impromptu show. Furry residents can run free or paddle in the water at the 3-Acre bayfront dog park, also great for socializing with other pup parents. Restaurants of note: Piatti Ristorante and Bar, El Paseo, India Palace, Bungalow 44, Balboa Cafe, and Moma's Royal Cafe. Also host to a range of cultural events such as the annual Mill Valley Festival, the Mountain Play for Broadway musicals atop Mt. Tamlpais, and the Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club installation designed in 1904.
